bird totem calendar
There are around 18,000 species of birds on planet Earth. Something around 2,000 of them reside in various parts of North America. They come in so many colors and sizes, fitted with diverse adaptations and personalities. Every one is a messenger, guide or totem.

This series focuses on the symbolic, iconic and spiritual aspects of these avian angels. Blessed with the gift of flight in many cases, birds have always inspired humankind. These are mixed medium acrylic on canvas with detail lines done with black Sharpie. The 12 finished pieces will be gathered into a calendar. Each month will feature a portrait of a different species, as well as a message of guidance to keep in mind each time that type of bird flies into your life.
